The Women’s Wine & Dine® was a little idea started to make a difference in 2004. Since our creation we have donated over $60,000 (cash and in-kind) to various women’s, young women’s and family centric charities in the Baltimore, Maryland and Delaware areas. In 2007 we created our own public charity – The Giving Spirits Foundation and all our events raise money specifically for this fund.
Last year’s golf tournament drew 60 enthusiastic women and was so successful we are hosting our third event on June 2, 2008.
The purpose of this event is to provide women who don’t get the opportunity to golf, or who are intimidated by the sport, to get into it and have fun! With the inclusion of things like the WW&D Golf Rules (which feature a humorous take on traditional golf rules to facilitate understanding) as well as goofy hats for the foursome captains, and a ton of opportunities for golf newbies to win prizes based on their participation, it creates a welcoming environment for women to further explore the sport. This is truly a unique event and in the past two years converted quite a few “non golfers” into budding golf enthusiasts.
With the support part and current sponsors including Heineken Light, The LPGA, Stout, Causey & Horning, Merry Maids, BMW, Tickled Pink Boutiques, Howard Bank, Tydings & Rosenberg, Kowitz Financial Services, and many other respectable companies and organizations – this event provides an excellent platform for any company seeking to reach out to affluent, professional women.
This year we anticipate over 70 women to attend, we need your help to make it a memorable event.
As with all of the WW&D events, a portion of the profits will be designated for The Giving Spirits foundation. The foundation supports a variety of initiatives throughout the greater Baltimore region, mainly focusing on fledgling charities that assist women, children and families in need.
