Women’s Wine & Dine Wisdom™ April 2008

Why you should “Rethink Pink”

When you think Pink wine – do you think – sickly sweet? Do you think low end?
Do you think – once the bottle is empty – great candle holder (as in your Mom’s Mateus bottles)?

Well, pink is perfect for Spring – and if you think you know today’s pink – time to drink again.

There are several styles of Pink wine – ranging from bubbly, to still, to dry, semi-dry – to sweet.

You could say Pink is universally flattering to the palate as there’s so many shades, er…styles – you’re bound to find one that looks good on you – well maybe not on you (to get pink wine stain out – try splashing a fresh stain with white wine or club soda BTW) but you know what I mean.

A quick around the world tour of pink wines includes:
American wines called - Blush
Spanish Pink Still wines are called – Rosado’s
French Pink wines are called – Rosés
Italian Pink wines are called – Rosatos
Other countries that make great pink wines include Australia, Chile, New Zealand & South Africa.

Try them all – and get in touch with your pink side soon!
