June 2007’s Wine Tip of The Month
Sparkling Sparkers!
4th of July, birthdays, weddings, all kinds of celebrations come around in July… It is summer and you’re looking for something special, something refreshing and if you’re serving a crowd, it’s not unreasonable that you might be being budget conscious. Here’s an opportunity to let a sparkler be your super summer sipper of choice… and this is why.
Bubbly wines are served cold put a bunch in a cooler with some ice and you’re ready to rock and roll. A cold beverage on a hot day or evening is infinitely more refreshing than your everyday room temperature cabernet. Also, bubbly wines come in a variety of styles from bone dry to sweet. Pairing perfection is a lot easier to achieve as there is an appropriate bubbly for just about anything you’re planning to serve. Whether it is Asian style Teriyaki flavored pork kebabs or your sweetie’s birthday cake!
Sparkling wines add panache, style, elegance and an air of festivity to any gathering any gathering or meal. Whether you serve a dry Sparkling Vouvray (France) at the beginning of a meal to open the appetite, or a slightly sweet sparkling Riesling to accompany some fiery “cue, or downright sweet Prossecco with a scoop of sorbet to top it off for dessert… bubbles are the busy host’s secret weapon when it comes to sipping with style this summer.
